steep creek & james bond basin

January 14-15, 2005

I hadn't been to Steep Creek in years, and I had been itching to return. Grahame, Chris and I headed up for an overnight trip. We had a leisurely start on saturday morning and only managed to squeak in onr short run after dropping our camping gear. The next morning we had quite a few exellent runs east of the lake. The snow was fantastic and the backcountry finally had a winter feel to it. I've got to get back here when the stability is a bit better; there are some fatastic runs I'd love to do.

Check out GQ's blog from this trip.

Leaving the road, James Bond Basin straight ahead

The early bird gets the worm. We, on the other hand, get a mini run at the day's end.

No surprise, Chris is trailbreaking.

GQ on the descent.

Chris loves his new Reverend fat skis. Watch out or he'll Bap-tise you!

Yours truly enjoying the pow (photo above and below by mr. quan)
